In a pervasively interconnected world, it's important for everyone to put a stake solidly in the ether, and this represents my tiny attempt. I hope it informs you as to who I am and what I am about.

Who am I in what context?

If you ask my sons and daughter, then I am dad. If you ask my boss, then I am her employee. If you ask my wife, she might say I am a busy bee. If you ask my sergeant, then I am one of his deputy sheriffs. If you ask my staff, then I am their boss. If you ask a student, I might be a professor. If you ask my Tae Kwon Do Master, then I am his student. If you find me in a vicarious universe on-line, I might be Trentzor the Paladin, Bumbelberry the hobbit, or Joachim the Dungeon Master. We take on many roles, and our identity forms in the minds of others based upon the context in which they interact with us.

What am I about?

I love applying technology in ways that enable people to collaborate, communicate, and learn together. Technology provides us with the means to better our condition and explore whatever boundary we chose to challenge. The foundation upon which all technology application rests is learning. Before we can apply technology, we must learn it. Before we can learn, we must be able to find someone to teach. Enabling a teacher and a student to connect in ways that permit the successful dissemination or creation of knowledge and its retention remains the cornerstone of all human endeavors. We must work to leave the world and those we touch in a better state than that in which we found them.

A multinational petrochemical firm, a global corporate investment bank, a legislature, an international biomedical firm, a state agency, a law enforcement agency, a prestigious private academic medical center and university, a local computer store, a major retailer, and even a Taco Bell have each employed me to work, teach, and learn. I am grateful to have been blessed with so many and varied opportunities.

Every joy I derived from my labor was the joy of making an individual's life a little bit better. I believe that I best achieve this when I deliver an experience or conversation that takes them from where they were to a brand new state of understanding and awareness.
